The can the government doesn't want you to own.

Post  Arti on Sat Feb 12, 2011 3:45 pm

I debated about putting this here because it's not about Aiko, however it is hardware and software.

I have a challenge for all you mechanics out there (eventually sold to the U.S.).
It's a challenge because you'll have to find a way around some laws to build it and for people to own it.

I want to see a specialized car that has the focus on security, privacy, and even human rights.
It must be able to deter RFID signals (currently legal for criminal drivers), GPS (any parent can use one), EMF and EMP rays or waves (may be used by cops), and even thwart off infrared, microwave, ultra violate, X-ray, and terraherts rays/waves and night vision (may see through body).

The hardest part might be a legal way to obscure front and back license plates while the motor is running.

It should also have a noise filter and image disabeler for anti car spying.

I don't expect this to be reality any time soon, but keep it in mind for future projects.
I would say you can start on a small RC model, but that would be against one of my reqirements (unless you use something like wind power).

this would be better in the general forum/chat section.

now on topic-any obscuration (is that a word?) of the license plate in the U.S. is illegal. no matter how you do it.
and radar/whatever detection, absorption, and trickery?
most absorptive materials for things like radar and lidar are either prohibitively expensive and don't work that well, or highly classified. basically, you can't get the stuff that works.
but RADAR jammers and detectors are legal in most states...
somewhat pricey, but you could build one.

and, um, what exactly does someone need a car like this for?

Why should I have this car?

Post  Arti on Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:19 am

I say all humans (including ciminals who aren't murderers) have rights.
Should sex offenders be told where and how to live?
Should a teenager who stole a car for a wild party night have an RFID bug on the family car?
Should a GPS monitor spy on the driver Via Wi/Fi?

I'm not saying I'm a criminal, I'm saying people who aren't criminals shouldn't be treated like they are.

in order: not really, but the registration and knowledge of the neighbors is nice. then again, i speak for most people when i say i don't want child pornographers living next to an elementary school.

RFID is a short range id technology. not a tracking technology. and they would probably receive a sentence or fine for stealing a car. and if they do, i would expect their parents to install a monitoring device in the car. but i would hope that parents could raise their kids well enough that these things don't happen.

huh? should gps spy via a wireless internet connection? wha? do you mean gps trackers? in that case, they only transmit to special receivers. kinda nice for locating lost things. or for finding your car if it gets stolen.
